If you are not free to speak your mind without fear, are you free?

The current tax code (law) is extraordinarily complex allowing for endemic abuse: politicians can curry favor (grant special tax credits) with constituents; businesses and individuals with more means are able to purchase the professional services capable of improving their exploitation of what those less informed cannot; the agents within the agent cannot give consent answers to ordinary citizens making compliance a gamble instead of a peaceful certainty.

Slam the door shut on the ability for the current system to be used for political gain or a weapon against ANY administration; remove the complexity and uncertainty with the constant modification of modifications and revisions of revisions.

How can a system so complex, so rife with abuse, so opportune for abuse by politicians, the wealthy, the powerful by any good for the average citizen much less the overall and long term stability of our economy?
